Two guinea pigs were abandoned near Jimmy’s Food Store and Urbano Cafe in April.

The Dallas Police Department is looking for information about the animal cruelty suspect who left the guinea pigs outside the Old East Dallas business at 1410 N. Fitzhugh Ave. April 16.

The animals were given to the SPCA, and they are doing well, the police say.

Anyone who has information about this case should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-877-TIPS or Animal Cruelty Detective Cathy Blanchard at 214-670-7649 or by sending an email to cathy.blanchard@dallascityhall.com.

This is the latest in a string of animal cruelty cases around the city. The police also were asking for the public’s help related to an injured chihuahua-type dog found April 12 on the westbound side of 2200 Interstate 30. Another dog was found in a crate at a dog park at 4800 Gramercy Oaks Drive, and the police asked residents for information in April.

The police wanted help identifying suspects who abandoned a puppy in a crate in the 15500 block of El Estado Drive. They were also looking for information about the person who shot a dog around April 1 near 3200 Beauchamp St.
