Parents taking their children for a quick meal now have the option to get a healthy lunch and support a local PTA all at once.
Unleavened, Lakewood Shopping Center’s provider of fresh wraps and salads, is starting a new fundraising campaign beginning in June. When you order a meal off of the restaurant’s Kids Fit Menu, Unleavened will donate $1 to the PTA of  Stonewall Jackson Elementary, William Lipscomb Elementary or Lakewood Elementary schools.
The fundraiser will run for at least a couple months, and the school that raises the most money will earn an additional $500.
Two of the kids menu choices at Unleavened were created by culinary students at Wilmer Hutchins High School in Dallas. Â
The Kids Fit Menu was developed three years ago by the Medical City Children’s Hospital in an effort to help fight childhood obesity.
