Dallas Fire-Rescue is working to extinguish a house fire on Gaston Avenue in Lakewood.
The firefighters were assigned to a fire call around 11 a.m. Wednesday, following 911 calls reporting that a house in the 6700 block of Gaston, near Country Club Circle, was struck by lightning.
People were inside the house when the fire started, said Jason Evans, the Dallas Fire-Rescue public information officer. However, they all escaped quickly, and no injuries have been reported. The number of people inside is unknown.
As of 11:47 a.m., the incident is ongoing.
Dallas police are assisting with traffic, blocking all lanes on Gaston Avenue between Pearson Drive and Brendenwood Drive.
