There’s so much food truck news in Dallas these days that it’s hard to keep track. As Rachel Stone mentioned in yesterday’s post, the food truck court on Lower Greenville changed course after a city ordinance intended to pave its way also made way for mobile food trucks all over the city.

And it’s not just food rolling around on city streets these days. Stone also wrote about the new Vintagemobile in September’s Advocate. Another business we recently learned of is handmade shop on wheels, the Dowdy Studio, which makes regular stops in our neighborhood. The Dowdy Studio’s “Where’s That Wagon?” page announces stops this weekend at the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market and Good 2 Go Tacos, and on Monday at Goodfriend and Beer Garden‘s grand opening, 4-9 p.m.

What about a nonprofit on wheels? Dallas has the SoupMobile, with its quirky and passionate efforts to help the homeless. Another idea, featured in O Magazine‘s September issue, is a mobile produce market in Chicago that takes fresh food to people who live in urban “food deserts.”
