There will be cheese, proteins, produce, desserts, jellies and more. (Aside from food, there are lots of other handcrafted goodies. The market showcases artists, craftsmen, farmers and artisans.) Shop at Whole Foods in Lakewood on Dec. 15th because 5 percent of all the store’s proceeds will go to Promise of Peace community garden that day. Learn more.
Neighbors Lily Hanson and Skye Mcdaniel, both chefs with a baking bent, are hosting a bake sale popup bakery in the neighborhood on Dec. 19 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with the option to pre-order and pickup on Dec. 23. There will be handcrafted bread, cookies, crackers and more, all made from scratch. The popup location will be at 1410 N. Fitzhugh at The Urban Goods space on Bryan, next door to Urbano Café and Jimmy’s in Old East Dallas.

Speaking of Urbano Cafe, the Old East Dallas restaurant located at 1410 N. Fitzhugh is now serving beer and wine. But don’t worry, they’re still BYOB as well. Nothing changes for those who want to bring their wine, they say, but now they also have a list of wines and craft and local beers on tap.

If you’ve been to Dugg Burger in Casa Linda Plaza, then you know guests always have their pick of 12 burger toppings called the “Dugg Dozen.” That includes toppings like hickory-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, etc. You might also know about the “Lucky 13” topping that changes frequently. Well over the weekend they launched the 100th “Lucky 13” topping, and chose a Champagne Truffle Cream Sauce to celebrate.
