Big change of plans for Snuffer’s Restaurant Inc., including the location on Lower Greenville. It was recently announced, Pat Snuffer will no longer be associated with the Snuffer’s brand.

Last March, Snuffer’s Restaurant Inc. filed for Bankruptcy. Then in July, it was bailed out by Firebird Restaurant Group, according to a press release from Firebird owner Mike Karns. Now, Firebird, which also owns El Fenix, Meso Maya and Taqueria La Ventana, will be taking over operations of all six Snuffer’s Restaurant & Bar locations.

“It is Firebird’s desire to protect the Snuffer’s brand and ensure that it not only survives, but thrives,” the press release states.

The original location, however, (the location that’s under construction on Lower Greenville) has a different future on the horizon. Pat Snuffer and his team will hold onto the site, and it will become a Pat’s Burger & Cheddar Fries.

As you probably recall, Snuffer knocked the building on Greenville down in April, so he could start from scratch. Originally, he hoped to be opening around this time, but you know how plans go.

Personally, I couldn’t care less what they call it. Just please, for the love of Pete, bring cheddar fries back to Lower Greenville.
