Casa Linda Plaza

Elliott’s Hardware and Central Network Retail Group, LLC said construction has begun on its store at 9540 Casa Linda Plaza — near the corner of Garland and Buckner, next door to Chili’s — and it’s expected to open before the end of the year.

The location will be 14,500 square foot and, per usual, it will feature a variety of hardware, lawn and garden, grilling and outdoor living, paint, electrical, plumbing, and home organization products. It will also feature Hardware Plus, a decorative plumbing and door hardware showroom.

Operations manager Andrea Spencer, the granddaughter of Jerre B. Elliott’s who founded the original Elliott’s Hardware in 1947, says she and her team are “thrilled about growing the Elliott’s Hardware brand.” She noted it’s a bit of a drive for any East Dallas neighbors who want to visit one of Elliott’s current locations.

“With the new location, we’ll be far more convenient to the communities surrounding White Rock Lake,” she says.

As for why the Dallas-based hardware store chose to open in Casa Linda, Spencer insisted that “partnering with Casa Linda Plaza was an easy decision.” She said Casa Linda’s rich history and recent revitalization “made it an attractive location for us.”

They’ve been looking at several Metroplex locations, she went on to explain.

“We chose East Dallas because it was the best fit,” she says. “Over the years, we’ve been approached many times by residents of Lake Highlands and other nearby neighborhoods. We were pretty sure there was a want, if not a need, for an Elliott’s in the area.

Spencer pointed out that she lived in the area for several years, although she isn’t currently, so she’s “witnessed Casa Linda’s revitalization firsthand.”

“It’s very exciting and we’re thrilled to be a part of it,” she says.

When Central Network Retail Group, LLC acquired Elliott’s in 2012, they immediately began sniffing out opportunities to expand, and currently has 46 home center and hardware stores in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon, Washington, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Boyden Moore, the president of CNRG, says he views a Casa Linda location as “an important first step” for expanding the Elliott’s brand.
