Sustainable handcrafted goods store Eko Deko and “urban nursery” Banana Bonsai appear to have moved out of their respective spaces on Greenville Avenue.

According to City records, Eko Deko was issued a certificate of occupancy at 1906 Greenville Ave. in May 2024, and Banana Bonsai received its CO for 1908 Greenville Ave. in October 2024.

Neither business left an explanation for this decision on their websites or social media accounts (at least, that I could find). I reached out to both businesses for more information. Banana Bonsai told me that the Greenville store closed. They will be at Dallas Farmers Market on the weekends and will look for a new location in the future.

“We decided to shutdown mostly because we were struggling with the parking situation on Greenville, among other things,” Banana Bonsai said. “It was a great place, and we love the neighborhood, but in the end, we decided it wasn’t worth the high rent and limited space.”
