Mata will be rockin’ to ’50s tunes at its April 16 sock hop where the coveted live-auction prize is a KayCee Club membership. Stonewall Stars are ready to walk like Egyptians for an April 22 ’80s party where $5,500 in NorthPark gold will be raffled.

• If you missed last night’s performance of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” at Long, you have two more chances to see it — tonight and Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

• Rub shoulders with the cast of Woodrow Wilson High School’s “Phantom of the Opera” at Saturday morning’s 9-10:30 a.m. breakfast and behind-the-scenes tour.

• Dallas ISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa will be at North Dallas High School next Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. as part of his “Community Conversation” tour, this time focusing on the North Dallas and Woodrow feeder patterns.

• The Rotary Club of Dallas is requesting more nominations for its Service Above Self Teacher Awards. The deadline has been extended to April 30 because of so few entries thus far. Take the time to enter a deserving teacher.
