Texas Ranger fan and East Dallas student Bo Anderson (bottom left) met Josh Hamilton and several other All Stars at last week's game in Phoenix. Anderson and his family made the trip and participated in All Star activities as part of the Make A Wish program for children who have life-threatening illnesses.

Bo Anderson, an 8th grader at St. Bernard school in East Dallas loves sports, especially baseball. A couple years ago, it became much harder for him to participate in sports, or even to attend school for that matter—that’s when doctors diagnosed him with leukemia and his family embarked on a battle for his young life.

He returned to school last year, and last week, through the Make A Wish Foundation, Anderson’s was one of six families to attend baseball’s All Star game in Phoenix.

“Bo had the best time of his life,” his mom Jennifer Anderson says.

Bo and the other five wish recipients received a customized All-Star jersey, baseball bat and Major League Baseball souvenir bag.

MLB representatives, in a recent release, said they were honored that these kids chose the All-Star game.

“The All-Stars arrive Sunday night,” MLB vice president of community affairs Tom Brasuell told the boys during a ceremony last week.

“But we think we have the All-Stars here right now.”
