During the hustle and bustle of the work week, some things get lost in the shuffle. Here’s a roundup of some interesting items we mined from the interwebs that you might’ve missed:

  • Woodrow Wilson High School won the Lady of the Lake Trophy by beating Bryan Adams 47 to 26 in the East Dallas Super Bowl at Franklin Field on Thursday, Oct. 17. Tracey James #15 had 16 carries for 110 yards and Edward Serrano #88 caught two passed for 68 yards. Both teams were undefeated in District 12 4-A. The Dallas Morning News has more.
  • The 1930 principal of Woodrow Wilson High School was included in a “Throwback Thursday” picture post by the Dallas Morning News.
  • Lakewood Bubblelife posted a couple of photos from the J. L. Long run, featuring some kiddos you might recognize.
  • One of Woodrow’s Pulitzer Prize winners, Lawrence Wright ’65 (the other is Dennis Copeland ’71) will appear with Jim Lehrer at an event called “Understanding Tragedy: The Impact of the JFK Assassination on Dallas” to be held Nov. 2 from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Southside Ballroom, 1135 S Lamar.
