Attention geeks: Lone Star Comics is throwing a Harry Potter Wizard’s Ball Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight. The party is a celebration of the seventh movie in the series, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. The party includes a costume contest with prizes, Harry Potter trivia games, and Austin-based wizard rock band the Mudbloods, plus drinks and snacks. A $5 donation at the door will go to the Children’s High Level Group, a charity co-founded by Harry Potter author JK Rowling.
Lone Star Comics, in the Hillside Village Shopping Center, has thrown a few events like this. They had a geek singles night around Valentine’s Day, and in the spring, they had a geek prom.
