Many neighbors have heard about Nick and Nora, the bald eagles who were nesting at Lake Highlands Park near White Rock Lake.

Nick and Nora is what we call them, at least. Who knows what they call themselves.

But new to the East Dallas animal celebrity scene is a different kind of bird — a duck, in fact.

This duck hasn’t received enough attention yet to earn a nickname, but she’s living at Tietze Park in Lakewood Heights.

More specifically, the duck is nesting in one of the planters near the park’s pool, which opens June 4, along with the other aquatic centers across Dallas.

Some fencing has been placed around the nest to protect the eggs, and there’s an opening at the back. They need some space over the next few weeks. Keep that in mind if you’re planning on visiting the pool this weekend.

Friends of Tietze Park posited Elizabeth as a nickname for the duck, in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Thoughts?
