Dallas police responded to a major accident call around 3 p.m. Jan. 7 at 400 E. Lawther Drive, just south of Corinthian Sailing Club.

Their initial investigation revealed that a man was driving his vehicle in the 3200 block of W. Lawther Drive when he hit a parked car, a police public information officer said.

Dallas police officer Karl Guenther told the White Rock Lake Task Force at a January meeting that the driver was drunk and hit bollards as he headed east.

Officers found the driver and took him into custody, and no injuries were reported, the public information officer said.

There were three burglaries and one attempted burglary at White Rock Lake Park in December, Guenther said at the last task force meeting. In the attempted burglary, the window of a car was broken.

Burglaries have been the most common crime issue at the lake, the officer told the task force in August.
