Kingston will face mortgage banker David Blewett and real estate businessman Warren Johnson, according to candidate formsĀ filed by the Feb. 15 deadline.

Blewett ran against Kingston in 2013 when Angela Hunt stepped down because of term limits. The former Southern Methodist University football playerĀ finished fourth with 10 percent of the vote, according to the Dallas Morning News. Kingston won in a runoff.

Johnson is a conservative candidate whose No. 1 priority will be the police force, according to hisĀ Facebook page. Dallas roads are a close second.

In his two terms as councilman, Kingston led a study of arts funding in Dallas and helped pass an urban drilling ordinance that is now a national model, according to his website.
