In what I think is a wise move, DISD apparently has altered its course concerning a husband indirectly supervising his wife in a district administrative department, which we wrote about last week here at BackTalk. The Morning News reports today that the woman’s division has been shifted away from her husband’s supervision to that of another supervisor. DISD and Supt. Michael Hinojosa apparently reacted to some pressure from several school board members, as well as (I’m sure) some comments from Dallas residents. It’s a good move: Hinojosa is working hard to clean up a lot of the mess at DISD and focus the district’s attention on student achievement, and there’s no point in giving the district’s many critics another spear to throw around.
