He designed at least 630 homes in Dallas, mostly in the Park Cities, Preston Hollow, North Oak Cliff and East Dallas, including in Cochran Heights. Dilbeck also designed the Belmont Hotel and El Ranchito restaurant.

The neighborhood of more than 300 homes is bounded by N. Henderson Avenue, Bennett Avenue, Central Expressway and Manett Street.

Located across from Old Monk, the Texas Historical Commission’s sign marking the Dilbeck homes in Cochran Heights says that Dilbeck designed 60 bungalows with attached garages in the neighborhood.

The homes there, exhibiting French Eclectic, Traditional, Ranch House, Moderne and Colonial Revival styles, were built between 1936-1940, just a few years after Dilbeck arrived in Dallas.

As of the installation of the sign in 2013, most of the Dilbecks were still standing, making Cochran Heights the neighborhood with the greatest concentration of his work in Dallas.
