The folks at Rockfish aren’t the first restaurateurs to recognize the healthy side of shellfish — but they’ve rightly embraced it. Here, seafood lovers will find a menu full of staples such as shrimp cocktail, Maryland crab cakes and sandwiches from the sea. But don’t stop there because there’s oh-so-much more. Look up at the kitchen blackboard for daily specials prepared by Rockfish partner and chef Eric Noel. On Fridays, for instance, Noel whips up a succulent dish of sautéed shrimp and scallops soaked in a light champagne butter sauce. Plus, Rockfish recently launched its Body and Sole Menu where you’ll find shellfish, fish, sauces and sides you can mix and match. This menu includes caloric content of each item, and (here’s the good part) every item featured is low-cal and wholesome. This is the perfect option for those who crave aquatic cuisine but want to look svelte when they hit the sand this summer. In fact, Rockfish marketing director Erin Horton says she lost a few pounds eating solely off the Body and Sole menu for some time. While you’re there, grab a frosty mugged beer or a Rock-A-Rita, and take advantage of free wireless internet access. As Horton says: “You can always surf on our turf.”
