The entire school gathered in front of the building Thursday morning for a presentation of the gift, which will go toward adopting each of the school’s nine teaching teams.

Principal Lisa Lovato, a former Principal of the Year in Dallas ISD, noted how the school’s project-based learning curriculum guides them into community service, and decribed how Burlington and Adopt a Classroom were serving as great models with their focus on the school. Burlington is opening up a new store just up Abrams from Rogers later this year.

Rogers received a 93 in overall rating from TEA this year, and has consistently been a top elementary, despite may of the neighboring homeowners not sending their children there. Lovato said that there are 25 languages spoken by students at the school.

“Our kids will score even higher with this donation,” Lovato said.
