Sure, it was pretty while it lasted, but now your Christmas tree is wilting and shedding pines.
Why not start the New Year off green by recycling that tree? Now through Friday, Jan. 11, you can dump your Christmas tree at a designated station between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.—and get free mulch in return.
Participating stations include:
1. Bachman Transfer Station, 9500 Harry Hines
2. Oak Cliff Transfer Station, 4610 S. Westmoreland
3. McCommas Bluff Landfill, 5100 Youngblood
4. Fair Oaks Transfer Station, 7677 Fair Oaks
5. Flag Pole Hill, 8007 E. Northwest Hwy.
You can pick up free mulch at the McCommas Bluff Landfill or the Bachman Transfer Station—just make sure you bring a shovel and containers to haul it home in. For more information, visit the City of Dallas website, or call 3-1-1.
