If you’ve ever considered volunteering with the Dallas Police Department, there’s never a better time to start than now.
The Northeast Police Division encourages you to sign up for one of its volunteer programs. There’s the Volunteers in Patrol (VIP) program, where citizens can patrol their own neighborhoods; the Citizens Helping in Parking Solutions (CHIP) program, which trains citizens to write parking tickets for handicapped parking violations; and Citizens Offering Police Support (COPS), which allows citizens to work alongside officers at the substation conducting various office and clerical related tasks.
View the volunteer page on the Dallas Police Department website for more opportunities and details. If you’re interested, complete the forms before the VIP Training on March 9. If you have questions, email Joe Schutz at joseph.schutz@dpd.ci.dallas.tx.us.
