Dallas Indie Festival combines film, art, music and food for a four-day, multi-genre festival from June 19-22. According to a press release, Dallas Indie Fest is “designed as a vehicle for both emerging and experienced artists including filmmakers, fine artists and musicians to gain exposure to a wider audience.”

The film screenings begin Thursday, June 19 and will continue through the duration of the festival. On Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 from noon–7 p.m., more than 50 different types of artists ranging from jewelry, painting, mixed media and sculpture, musicians and food trucks will be set-up against the beautiful White Rock Lake shoreline.

I’ll tell you how you can go — and you should go — in a minute, but first: If you’re one of East Dallas’ many artistic types. If you’re an artists, filmmaker, actor, singer or all-around innovator, Dallas Indie Fest wants to meet you. “We are looking for several indie innovators to be featured before a film block,” the website says.

They’re also looking for “indieteers” (which is a non-word my spellcheck really hates). If either of those sound fun to you, go to the website and fill out an email under “Let’s Get Started.”

You can check out the film line-up before you go on the website. There will be tons of food trucks available throughout the event.

The Bath House Cultural Center is located at 521 E. Lawther. For more information and to purchase tickets ($5-$30) go to the website or contact Adam Zoblotsky at 214-908-6990. For up to date notifications, follow Dallas Indie Festival’s Facebook page. Seating is limited for film screenings and remaining seats will be for sale at the door. Passes for Saturday and Sunday outdoor festival also sold at door.
