There’s a chance you hear the words “local election” and immediately stop reading this story. Voter turnout for city council and school board elections are typically low, even though these races have a direct effect on the issues that impact you most — streets, local businesses and parks, for example.
We won’t use this space to lecture you about voting, but we’d prefer if you did exercise that right.
