Dallas Arboretum Black Heritage Council Honorary members

The Dallas Arboretum will have the second-annual Black Heritage Celebration that displays local talent, art and businesses next month.

On May 14, there will be a fashion show, live performances, cooking demonstrations from chefs and more than 40 Black-owned vendors.

The fashion show will feature designers Donna Rose, Aundrea Love and Pink Lucy. Guests can expect performances from Dallas Black Theatre, Bishop Arts Theater Center, Don Diego Band and Clover the Violinist.

On May 15, cooking demonstrations and vendor stations continue. A designer and entrepreneur showcase will follow the theme The Power of Black Heritage: The Elegance of Black Hair. It will be led by Tashara Parker, Mahisha Dellinger and Texas State Rep Rhetta Bowers.

There will also be an art gallery featuring Emmanuel Gillespie, Barbara and James MasonNatasha JohnsonSharidyn Barnes, Jennifer Monet Cowley and Kumiko Johnson 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days.
