Bike Friendly Oak Cliff’s “month-long celebration of all things bicycle” no longer required crossing the river.
A couple of Cyclesomatic events take place here in our neighborhood.
The “fall into fitness” family bike ride is from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Bath House Cultural Center. Project Still I Rise and Empowered Pedals will lead rides in length from one-half mile to 5 miles. The Texas Medical Association’s Hard Hats for Little Heads program will provide free helmets to the first 100 riders. Richardson Bike Mart will provide free tune-ups and light repair.
For something more “adult friendly,” the weekly Tits Tuesday bike ride meets at 8 p.m. Oct. 16 and rides to Adair’s for the Wild West Bike Bonanza. There will be a contest and prizes for best Western attire.
Cyclists from all over the city are invited to meet up at Main Street Garden Park downtown at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, for the Ride to City Hall.
And the “spooky cross” cyclocross race takes place at Dallas Heritage Village from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.
