One man and one infant are dead following a single-car crash on East Grand Avenue, police said.
The man, 25-year-old James Lee Bernard III, was driving a 2007 Mercury Milan at a high rate of speed. Around 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Bernard lost control of the car and hit a curb and then a tree in the 6400 block of East Grand Avenue.
A 22-year-old woman was sitting in the passenger seat with an infant in her lap.
Bernard died at the scene, and Dallas Fire Rescue took the woman to a hospital in serious condition. The infant was taken to a hospital and died.
