She announced last week she’s not running for mayor, but District 14 City Councilman Angela Hunt will face at least four opponents for her council seat in the May election.

The only previous candidate to drop out of the race against Hunt is Jim Rogers of Bryan Place, who says he intends to run in 2013.

James Nowlin, a 30-year-old attorney/business owner and Lakewood Heights resident, says he’s still running. Nowlin has described Hunt as a mentor of sorts — she appointed him to the Dallas Citizens Police Review Board.

Businessman Brian Oley says he’s in the race.

Vernon Franko, who owns an insurance company, is running.

And Chad Lasseter, a businessman and Lakewood Hollywood Heights resident, says he is “diametrically opposed” to Hunt’s stance on most issues. He was prompted to run after Hunt voted to raise property taxes.

We’ll have more on these candidates this week.
