When the former Faulkner Tower reopens this winter after a top-to-bottom redo, it will have a new tenant in Compass Real Estate.

The real estate company will occupy three of the building’s seven floors, said owner Carl Anderson, co-founder of commercial real estate developer Larkspur Capital. The space will include a ground-level client meeting area, floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed concrete floors and ceilings. Compass also plans to have breakout meeting areas and collaborative technology tools.

Anderson, who closed on the property at 6220 Gaston Ave. in July, is talking with other tenants, but they have not yet been identified.

After the purchase of the property, Anderson vacated tenants and started asbestos remediation, which will be completed in about three weeks. When that is finished, all exterior glass will be replaced, the exterior will be painted and the bathrooms and lobby will be remodeled. The new lobby will feature large, white stone floor slabs, exposed ceilings and LED lighting.

“With efficient and open floorplates, coupled with the remodel, we expect the property to be the premier destination for office users in Lakewood,” Anderson said.

Dallas architect Omniplan designed the renovations, and Studio Green Spot will landscape the exterior, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The project is scheduled for completion in December, and it will not require any zoning changes.
