The company expanded to Building 2 of Energy Square, located at 4849 Greenville Ave. It was started by Nick Clark, who left his job in commercial real estate after he discovered the concept of “flexible workspace.” The first Common Desk opened in Deep Ellum in 2012. Since then, it has expanded to 20 locations throughout D-FW, including in the Continental Gin Building in Deep Ellum, and in Houston, Austin and cities in North Carolina.

Common Desk’s latest acquisition includes 25,000 square feet across two floors, encompassing 11 conference rooms, 62 offices, three midsize suites and socially distanced coworking space. Energy Square features a courtyard, updated fitness center, rooftop deck and outdoor entertainment and event area with WiFi access.

The company first started pursuing opportunities with Energy Square in 2017, according to a press release. It is the second time Common Desk has partnered with USAA Real Estate and the first time the company has partnered with Glenstar Properties.

Energy Square offers a location nearby many neighborhoods including Lakewood, the Park Cities, Lake Highlands and Preston Hollow.
