I had a brand new experience this morning. As I crossed the bridge that links Monte Vista Drive with Brookside, I found a DPD checkpoint where they were stopping, if only momentarily, all cars. They appeared to be checking registration and inspection stickers as there were several cars stopped to the side with polite police officers writing on small pads. Not a good sign. It’s not a school zone and clearly wasn’t a speed trap.

In twenty years of crossing that bridge, I have never seen that before. I’ve never seen that before anywhere, actually. Anyone with additional info? Is this a new crackdown on vehicle inspection/registration? Were they perhaps looking for something or someone else?
