Cliff Fest: More than Just a Taste, the inagural Bishop Arts District street festival aimed at showcasing Oak Cliff in the vein of "taste of" festivals, raised $1,100 for the North Texas Food Bank. That will make 4,400 meals, says Amy Wallace Cowan, who organized the event Sunday.
The festival drew hundreds of neighbors as well as folks from across the river, she says.
"We see a lot of the same faces for First Thursdays and on weekends around there, but there were a lot of new faces for us," she says. "Sara Tillman of Tillman’s Roadhouse said she talked to lots of people where were making their first trip to the Bishop Arts District."
