Christmas at the Dallas Arboretum continues daily this weekend, with the “12 Days of Christmas” and “Nutcracker Suite” in the Degolyer House. Enjoy the festive gazebos representing the classic Christmas song, or take in more than 800 nutcrackers displaying the scenes from the famous ballet from the collections of Rosemary Brinegar and the Himert Family. Tickets range from $10-$20.

C.C. Young hosts author Mark Carroll to discuss “Reaching For The Moon,” his book about celebrity encounters that include Raquel Welch and Rock Hudson. The event is free this Thursday at 10 a.m. at The Point. Register by calling 214-841-2831.
Head to LG Taps Thursday night at 7 p.m. for an ugly Christmas sweater party and toy drive.  When guests bring an unwrapped toy or gift card for a family in need, they will get a raffle ticket for a prize, which includes gift cards to area establishments. Bad Santa will also be available for pictures, and there will be a contest for ugliest sweater or onesie.
Join the North Texas Society for Traditional Performance to celebrate the Winter Solstice on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Libertine Bar. Prepare a story or poem, or take in the other performances. Feel free to bring costume for the procession of the Mari Lwyd, where participants march on Lowest Greenville Christmas caroling alongside a decorated horse skull. Guests will stop at each bar to spread holiday cheer.
Enjoy artisan gelato at Botolino on Lower Greenville to benefit Solar Preparatory School for Girls. Half of all proceeds from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday night will go towards the school’s PTA.
Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., head to Keith’s Comics to hear from “White Lily” creator and writer Preston Poulter, who will also be signing copies of his work.
