Got chili skills? Promise of Peace is giving you an opportunity to put them to the test Saturday at its community garden. The nonprofit, which focuses on bringing gardening and photography to East Dallas school children, is having a chili cook off and concert Saturday.
It’s $20 to enter a batch of con carne and $10 to come for the party, which includes free beer. Local Honey and Lisa Moore Bryn will perform at the party, which is from 1-6 p.m.
Tickets and entry forms are available at Penne Pomodoro in Lakewood.
