It’s still moving, says owner Phillip Nikpour. Once his lease ends on Oct. 31, he has to find a new space because Stonelake Capital Partners, who owns that shopping at center on Skillman, is raising the rent — by a lot.

But instead of moving to the shopping center at the southeast corner of Mockingbird and Abrams into the vacant Kindred Spirits location, like Nikpour had originally intended, The Wine Therapist will be setting up shop across the street from their current location at Skillman and La Vista, into what used to be Lakewood Consignment between Goldrush Cafe and Ralph Austin Jewelers.

“It is a really lovely space with a wrought iron railed staircase and high ceilings,” Nikpour says.

The property across the street is owned by the descendants of the Dines family, who are known for their strong landlord-tenant relationships, so Nikpour hopes to stay in that location for a while.

“We look forward to serving the community for 15+ more years at this new location,” he says.

“We plan on opening November 1st of this year, synchronizing with our current lease expiring October 31st. Carl Jepsen and Tom Guerin, of Jepsen and Guerin Architects, will consult on design of the space.”

Winetherapist4At this point we’re not sure what Stonelake plans to do with The Wine Therapist’s current location.

Nikpour says Stonelake has showed the space to restaurants and other wine bars, but so far none are interested in the space for the price Stonelake is asking, which is almost $10,000 a month, he says.
