Someone broke into my car a couple years ago, and since, I have been pretty diligent about not leaving anything I care about inside it (especially around White Rock Lake). But as time passes without incident, it’s easy to get lax about leaving iPods or GPSs in the car. So, I’m here to remind you that it’s not safe out there. Car break ins are prevalent as ever in Lakewood. In fact four have been reported since Jan. 1— three on Lakewood Blvd. and one on Wabash. Beside locking your car, and hiding your valuables and garage door openers, what else can you do? Join Lakewood Crime Watch or your neighborhood crime watch group.
