We’re a parade loving neighborhood. On the Fourth of July there are a number of them around here. Today plans for one such parade trickled in through our website (where, by the way, you can post neighborhood events and news, in case you didn’t know).
This one is in the Forest Hills neighborhood. You can click here for the details. The best part, though, is the theme: It’s "American Idol." OK, so the parade planners’ sense of timeliness is a little off (the show ended last night), but I can just imagine all the cute little Kelly-, Carrie- and Jordin-wannabes in the Kool-aid drinking set, not to mention some humorous adult takes on the theme. I’m planning my Paula Abdul costume — complete with factial tics, seal claps and slurs — as I type.
