Future Wildcats, or prospective Woodrow Wilson High School students, and families are welcome to attend the school’s open house Thursday, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Woodrow Wilson is located at 100 S. Glasgow.
The open house includes a presentation geared toward students starting as first years in the fall of 2013. Students can explore the school’s organizations and clubs and learn about the International Baccalaureate, or IB, program, which lets them earn college credit hours and is open to students outside Woodrow zoning lines.
This year, students and families can tour Woodrow’s new $14 million and 40,000 square foot science and performing arts wing, which just opened this month.
Woodrow has four college preparatory academies. One academy is geared toward IB education; one toward science, technology, engineering and math; one toward business, entrepreneurship and finance; and one toward creative performing arts.
Woodrow’s high amount of AP participation has been recognized by Newsweek and the Washington Post.
