SWAT could not find a suspect who shot two people in Old East Dallas early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the shooting call at about 3:35 a.m., according to the Dallas Police Department. When they arrived at the 4900 block of Bryan Street, they saw two men — one shot in the neck and the other shot in the chest area.

Dallas Fire-Rescue rushed both victims to the hospital, where one remains in stable condition. The other was treated and already released.

Police believed the suspect is barricaded inside an apartment complex, and SWAT arrived on site. When they entered the building at about noon, they found it empty instead.

The shooter’s whereabouts are unknown, and we’ll continue to update this post as we learn more.
