Two talented actors from Bryan Adams High School need your help to go to a theater competition. Junior Angel Arguijo and senior Thien Nguyen finished in the top one percent of all competitors in the Texas Thespian Competition this spring, qualifying them for the International Thespian Festival in June, but they need to raise $3,500 to get there.
The Texas competition included nearly 8,000 actors competing in a number of theatrical events. The Bryan Adams students qualified in duel acting. The next competition includes a week of workshops and auditions for many of the top college theater departments.
Both actors are great students, and Nguyen is his class’s valedictorian. Arguijo boasts impressive acting chops, says technical theater director Jennifer Malmberg. The two performed a scene from “Waiting for Godot” in the competition.
This was Adams second year to compete in the Texas Thespian Festival. The International Festival will be at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in late June.
