Freshman Kaveion Morris was walking from his home to the bus stop when he heard a toddler crying near an apartment complex pool.

The toddler pointed to a young girl who was drowning in the pool. Morris jumped into the water to rescue the girl while his friend called the police.

First responders said the girl would be OK.

“I never expected something like this to happen,” Morris told The Hub. “I’m just so thankful the girl is all right.”

Bryan Adams Athletic Coordinator Gil Baber praised Morris, a multi-sport athlete, for his actions.

“All I hear from his teachers and coaches is how phenomenal he is,” Baber told The Hub. “It’s not everyday that a kid does something like that. It depicts what we want out of our athletes and students here at Bryan Adams.”
