The sixth for the chain, the Deep Ellum location will be the first restaurant outside of the New York area. Third-generation New York restaurateur Stratis Morfogen is the creator of the concept, which grew out of his Asian-inspired steakhouse, Brooklyn Chop House. Dallas-area resident Sam Cole is the franchise partner for Texas.

Diners order food online or at an in-store kiosk, scan their barcode and pick up their meal in a locker in the store. The Dallas location will have 34 seats in the dining room, according to a press release.

Traditional, specialty and gluten-free dumplings, along with bowls, sides and desserts are on the menu. Dumplings include crispy pork and Kung Pao chicken. There are also chicken teriyaki, pork and cabbage, and vegetable potstickers. Some of the specialty dumplings include Korean barbecue, reuben, steak and cheese, mac and cheese, chicken parmesan and pepperoni pizza.

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop will open at 2548 Elm St. on May 15. But this will not be the only location in the Lone Star State, let alone Dallas. Cole plans to open at least six more locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, The Dallas Morning News reported. Several more are planned for Austin.
