The bridge at Mockingbird Lane and Peavy Road will be temporarily closed this weekend as construction continues on the improvement project.
The bridge, as well as northbound and southbound Loop 12, will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday to safely perform bridge work, according to a Texas Department of Transportation traffic alert.
Traffic will be redirected through the exit ramps to bypass the area. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes.
The closure is part of a project to replace and upgrade the two-lane bridge. When completed, it will remain two lanes, but it will have sidewalks on both sides and wider outer lanes to accommodate larger vehicles.
It was previously closed in September to perform bridge demolition on the west side.
