The Native Plant Society will celebrate National Prairie Day by hosting a White Rock Lake Native Plant Talk on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Ridgewood/Belcher Recreation Center. The Friends of White Rock Lake will be presenting refreshments, door prizes and more.

On Friday, Lower Greenville’s Kathy Fielder Design will host Sip and Shop to benefit the Brit Rose Foundation, which supports mental wellness and suicide prevention. Muffins and mimosas are part of the event, which runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Dallas singer and songwriter Mitchell Ferguson is set to release his newest single “Cry” on Saturday at Sundown at Granada from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Head to Klyde Warren Park for Voly in the Park, a volunteerism festival with 75 nonprofit agencies, volunteer projects, music, dancing, and more than 5,000 attendees. The event will be Saturday from noon-4 p.m. East Dallas nonprofits Magdalen’s House, the Dallas Arboretum and many more will be there, so head down to get matched with a place to serve.

The Henderson Tap House will host Brew the Cure Saturday from 2-5 p.m. to help in the fight against Type 1 diabetes. Music, food, local brews and a live auction will all be a part of the fun. Tickets are $30.

Head to the Dallas Arboretum Sunday from 1-3 p.m. for the Garden to Table cooking series. Guests will learn how to build Mediterranean meal with marinades, pastas and dressings. The class includes a tasting and tickets are $65.

One Hundred Men of East Dallas is an organization that seeks to raise and give money to nonprofits around town, and will be having their quarterly meeting at Bar Louie on Monday at 7:30 p.m. They are looking for 100 men to bring $100 to be donated to an local organization that will make a pitch that evening. Join in to help a local nonprofit doing good in Dallas.Â
