The second annual Dallas Blondes vs. Brunettes flag football game boasts some big-name celebrity coaches — WFAA TV’s Dale Hanson and Pete Delkus — but the bigger name is Jennifer Thompson, a longtime neighborhood resident who is back for her second year to lead the Blondes as quarterback. In fact, Thompson will be on WFAA’s "Good Morning Texas" show this morning; the show begins at 9 a.m.

Thompson is the daughter of John and Vickie Thompson, longtime neighborhood volunteers who can always be found organizing the Lakewood 4th of July parade. Last year’s football game raised $73,000, and Thompson says tickets are $25 each for the game, to be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. at SMU’s Westcott Field. Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas.
