A new real estate development won’t spell the end of the popular nightlife spot, Beauty Bar. Owner Brooke Humphries has made clear her intentions to move, and in December, Eater reported that the dance club would move to Deep Ellum.

Beauty Bar’s new location will be at 2805 Main St. next to Stirr, according to an alcohol permit application filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Its former spot at 1924 N. Henderson Ave. will be torn down to make way for the new development, Eater reported.

The developer, Open Realty, promised neighborhood associations it would limit the number of bars in the new space. Beauty Bar, which spent more than six years at the Henderson location after replacing Blue Collar Bar, was forced to move.

It is unclear if the club will remain part of the franchise that has seven locations nationwide. (The original was a 40-year-old beauty shop on the Lower East Side of Manhattan that some guys turned into a bar in 1995.) But Humphries assured that the new Beauty Bar would remain true to the original with its affordable drinks and rotation of DJs.
