The partners purchased a building at 1900 N. Haskell with the intent to renovate it to be the new home for the business, which offers organic wines, beers, liquors, plants and fitness classes. The future Bar & Garden, with retail on the ground floor and office space upstairs, will have better parking and more foot traffic. Plus, managing partner Julie Buckner said they look forward to being near Loro, Ebar and Dolly Python.

The store will close at the end of June, when the lease is up. Buckner said they love their current location, but the space is just too big, and the square footage is expensive.

A grand opening for the new location, about a mile away from the Ross Avenue store, hasn’t been announced yet.

Bar & Garden first announced that it was moving in 2021, but the shop faced permitting delays and had to extend its lease for a year, Buckner said.

Before Bar & Garden closes in June, weekly tastings will be held noon-5 p.m. each Saturday at the current location, which has housed Bar & Garden for the past six years.
