2012 Gold Medalists with namesFive Lakewood gymnasts brought home impressive awards from the 2012 Texas USA Gymnastics Level 5 State Championship Meet held outside Houston earlier this month.

The team, comprising seven girls (two from Lake Highlands), won four gold medals and one silver medal. All the gymnasts train under Greg Goots and Amber Neroes at Ridgewood Gymnastics in Lakewood. They compete in floor, balance beam, uneven bars and vault.

This year, all the girls on the Level 5 Ridgewood team were invited to represent North Texas for their age group, according to a press release.

Kaylie Sheaffer, age group Senior A1 from Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, won a gold medal on floor, placed top 10 on vault and beam, and fifth place for her overall score.

Lily Lane, Junior A2 from Zion Lutheran School, won a gold medal on floor and top 10 on vault.

Allison Williams, Junior A3 from Stonewall Jackson Elementary School, placed top 10 on floor and 11th overall in her age group. 2012 State Championship Invitees with Names

Kate Giebler, Junior C2 from Saint Thomas, won a silver medal on uneven bars, placed top five on floor, and top 10 overall in her age group.

Miranda Farrar, Junior C2 Beam Specialist from Saint Thomas, placed 8th on beam with the highest beam score for Ridgewood/Dallas.

Cassidy Landis, Senior A2 from Wallace Elementary School, won a gold medal on floor, placed top 10 on vault and top 10 overall in her age group.

Erin Martin, Senior A3 from Robert T. Hill Middle School, won a gold medal on uneven bars, placed top 10 on floor and top 10 overall in her age group.
