More than 25,000 candy-filled eggs will be hidden on the grounds of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, 8525 Garland, April 7. The Easter egg hunt, billed by the Arboretum as the city’s largest, ends the Arboretum’s annual floral extravaganza, Dallas Blooms.
Children up to 10 years old can participate in the hunt, which is sponsored by Tom Thumb grocery stores.
This year’s theme for Dallas Blooms is “Dallas in Wonderland.” Characters from Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” decorate the Arboretum in topiary form through Easter.
Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for children ages 6-12, and free for children under age 6 and members. Parking is $2. Call 327-8263.
The Dallas Nature Center, 7171 Mountain Creek Parkway, also hosts an Easter egg hunt April 6 at 10:30 a.m.

LIBRARY EXHIBITS NEIGHBORHOOD ARTISTS: Lakewood Library’s 32nd annual art show is April 2-27 at the branch, 6121 Worth. Neighborhood residents have submitted their original creations to the library in the following categories: watercolor; oil and acrylic; photography; pastels, drawings, collages, prints and etchings; textile works; and the new category of mixed media. The entries will be judged by Andy Hansen, a former Dallas Times Herald Photographer; Polly Diskey, a printmaker and teacher at the Arts Magnet at Booker T. DEEP ELLUM ARTS FESTIVAL: The Deep Ellum Spring Arts Festival, the first in a series of three seasonal street parties benefiting the Deep Ellum Association, will be held April 5-7 on Main. The outdoor event begins with a concert Friday night and continues with street performers, chalk poets, ethnic dancers, art displays and a variety of musical acts. Admission is free. COMEDY WITH A VENGEANCE: The Fuzzy Logic Comedy Troupe presents the fifth revue “Bullet with a Vengeance” April 5-6 at Pocket Sandwich Theatre, 5400 E. Mockingbird. CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT: The newly formed chamber music society, Camerata Chimera, performs the last concert in its first performance series April 14 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, 6525 Inwood. Featured on the program will be the Piano Quartet of Robert Schumann and the Cello Sonata of Claude Debussy. Also on the program are the Piano Quintet of Sir Edward Elgar, a rarely heard work written near the end of his life, and a fantasy based on the “The Londonberry Air” for string quartet by Frank Bridge. AD-LIBS CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY: Ad-Libs, a 100 percent improvisational comedy troupe, recently celebrated its ninth birthday with a special anniversary show. The troupe began in 1987 under the direction of comedian Phil Larson, performing at El Chico restaurant, formerly located in the Medallion Shopping Center. Using credit cards, Larsson eventually financed his own club at 2613 Ross, delivering Dominos Pizza and making public appearances as TV’s purple dinosaur, Barney, to get the club off the ground. Today, Ad-Libs has more than 2,300 shows under its belt and performs five times a week at the Ross location. The majority of the troupe lives along Lower Greenville. DANCE CLUB REVITALIZES LIVE VENUE IMAGE: Arcadia, 2005 Greenville, is reviving its image as a live music venue with more concerts. EXHIBIT EXPLORES LA JUNTA: The 5501 Columbia Art Center presents the free exhibit “La Junta de los Rios: A Fantastic Journey” through June 29. A collaboration between local artists Kaleta Doolin an John Hernandez, the documentary exhibit takes visitors on a trip through the region that straddles the border between Texas and Mexico, where the Conchos River feeds into the Rio Grande. The area’s landscape and river have been re-created for the exhibit, which includes a video installation exploring La Junta’s legends, history and contemporary life. PULP FUSION: “Pulp Fusion: A Recent Art from the Dieu Donne Papermill” exhibits at the 5501 Columbia Art Center through June 29. The free exhibit features a retrospective of paintings, prints, and books produced by artists at the Dieu Donne Papermill. Located in New York’s Soho district, the studio was founded in 1976 to revive the nearly extinct craft of hand papermaking. Call 823-8955.
