No one was injured as more than 60 firefighters battled a blaze for five hours Sunday night at an East Dallas apartment complex.

Fire crews responded at 7 p.m. to a structure fire at the Halston apartments at 8850 Ferguson Road, Dallas Fire Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said.

Heavy fire was coming from the roof of a third-floor apartment when first responders arrived. Firefighters were later pulled from the building, and additional heavy equipment like ladder trucks was used to put out the fire.

All residents escaped the building, but one person was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, Evans said.

An unknown number of residents was displaced. The Red Cross is helping those who lost their home.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.
