If — and that’s a big if — East Dallas ever lacked a place to pick up cat nip or a leash, that problem has been fixed many times over.

Around this time last year, Unleashed by Petco opened a location in the back end of Lakewood Shopping Center. Earlier this summer, Petsmart announced it was had signed on with Lincoln Property Co. to be a part of the Arboretum Village at Gaston-Garland-Grand. Then just a couple of weeks ago, Hollywood Feed, a groomer/pet store combo based in Memphis, confirmed it has plans to open in the old Cantina Laredo spot off Abrams.

And now we can add Pet Supplies Plus to the list of pet lovers who see East Dallas as fertile ground.

According to the co-manager of the Pet Supplies Plus down the road at Mockingbird and Skillman, the national chain has plans to open a location in what was once the Centennial at Ross and Greenville before it briefly became a Cheers Spirits and Liquors.

Construction hasn’t started yet, but they hope to be open by the end of the year. The space is big enough to allow room for pet supplies, grooming, training and/or adoption.
